Weekend Wonders

Fete time....

well, i spent thursday and friday night's cutting out fabric circles, to cover the jars, making bunches of lavender and pricing everything. we ended up with over 390 jars, which was great. i finally went to bed at 11:45pm on friday night and i was so nervous about the next day.

fete day arrived with the promise of heat and wind. i remember the last fete being really hot too.

we arrived at the school at 8am and spent the next 1 1/2 hours setting up. everyone's stands looked great. at 10am i left my first two volunteers in charge and went to enjoy the rides with the kids. nanny arrived at 10:45am and with deserted mick and the boys and took matilda for a ride on the teacups. it was so hot and she kept wanting me to pick her up.

after watching Harry ride the swinging chairs, mum and i went exploring. we went straight to the used books and picked up some great bargains. twelves new romance novels to get me through a week or two.

after a quick lunch i went to work on the stall.

the afternoon went really fast and we were all packed up and home by 3:45pm. we find out tonight how our stalls went at our final fete meeting. i really enjoyed the day and we ended up getting a few really good bargains, like 15 items of used clothing, for the kids, for $7 and the kids brought home lots of useless, space wasting toys for free.

i might even volunteer again next fete.......
