Rainy Days

Well, once again Athletics was called off, and unfortunately they run the make-up day on Tuesday evenings, and that is the boys swimming lessons, so they have to miss it. We all got up nice and early and then at 7:30am it started to rain. After checking the website every ten minutes, they finally decided to call it off, and I wasn't really surprised, as the storm last night had left everything very wet.

At 12pm, we headed off to Woodford to visit a couple who Mick used to know through Uni. Ruth and Alex have three girls aged 10, 6, and 4. We stayed at their house for a BBQ, and the kids had a great time playing games, and getting into general mischief.

Their house backs onto the bush, and the backyard was fantastic. I would love it, except for the proximity of many varieties of poisonous snakes. Where we have a backyard with many "toys", like the cubby-house, swing sets and sandpit, they had a rope swing that hung from a tree (which Charlie loved), a small tramp (which you could climb onto from the deck), and an area of sand (with some outside sandpit-type toys). Matilda and Maddy had a great time running backwards and forwards from the water tank to the vegie garden watering the plants.

After lunch we had yummy cake and then we headed home, because Mick and Grandma have just left for Culburra Beach. Mick is going to a friends birthday, and Grandma is going to visit her old friend, Brian.
The kids and I now have to entertain ourselves for the rest of the afternoon, and evening. Hopefully it will be an early night for all.

Also, yesterday, my little boy Charlie lost his first baby tooth. I can't believe he is old enough....
