A big weekend

This weekend, we had a big one. The Wild Expo Frog and Snake Expo was on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mick had a stand set up for the University of Western Sydney, both on the Animal Sciences program, as well as Bees. He left early Friday morning, and was not home until Sunday evening, tired and cranky.

On Friday afternoon, I picked the kids up from school and we packed our stuff, waited for Cathy and Lewis to arrive from Sydney, to mind Jasper, and we drove into Sydney Olympic Park to stay at the Novotel. This was very exciting. The kids first time in a hotel. The room was fantastic. It had two double beds, which were a bit squishy, but it was so much fun. After a quick dinner, Mick was off to the conference downstairs, and we settled into bed and watched UP.This was the view from our window.

In the morning, we packed everything up and packed the car, then headed 500m down Olympic Boulevard to the Paddington Pavileon where the Expo was being held. The boys and Matilda spent the first hour or so looking around before the doors officially opened. Harry decided to collect business cards from everyone there, while Charlie just loved looking at the animals. Matilda was fasinated by this huge dinosaur that moved like a real dinosaur (but with a man inside). It tried to eat her balloon, and she thought it was wonderful.

After many hours, and sore feet, we headed home, leaving Mick there for another night and day.

Yesterday we were expecting a visit from Granddad and Marie, but Mick forgot to tell me that they decided not to come this weekend. Not to worry, we had a visit from Uncle Kyle instead.
