Spring Break

We have had a pretty quiet school holidays this time.  Mick was still working a lot, so we spent the majority of our time at home.

The last weekend if the holidays included a public holiday, so we decided to do a few little trips.
On Friday 2nd October we spent the late afternoon at Little Bay, south of Sydney.  It is a beautiful area for swimming and snorkelling.  When we arrived there were some blue bottles on the beach, but none in the water, so the kids and Mick got in for a paddle around.
Later in the afternoon the blue bottles got a little more intense and unfortunately Charlie, Matilda and Mick got stung.  Charlie has reacted particularly badly to the little buggers.
On Saturday afternoon we went for a trip up the mountains to a favourite spot of ours near Kings Tableland.  Mick was looking for peacock spiders and the kids love climbing the rocks into caves and exploring the surrounding bush.
We saw many waratahs in full bloom and Mick came away with the spider species he was after.

We spent Sunday and Monday relaxing and trying to stay out of the heat. Of course, I realised that I hadn't even washed the kids school shirts until Monday morning. Muffins are made and clothes are ready.  I only hope I can drag myself out of bed that early.
